Here at Oklahoma City VW, we're excited to announce the arrival of the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 electric compact SUV. This advanced automobile is poised to make quite a splash on those Norman, Oklahoma City, and Edmond, Oklahoma, roadways.

Years of Volkswagen innovation have led to this moment. If you're just as excited as we are to be part of it, continue reading to take a look at what this electric SUV has to offer.

2021 VW ID.4: Engine and Charging Specs

The standard power source and motor combination for the Volkswagen ID.4 consists of an 82kWh battery as well as an AC permanent-magnet synchronous motor. Together they're able to produce a solid 201 horsepower. Another engine will be available soon that's able to generate a commanding 302 horsepower. With either one, you can bet this SUV will hold its own despite any driving challenges you may face along the way.

The VW ID.4 can be charged using an alternating current (AC) charger and a direct current (DC) fast-charging charger. With a Level 2 AC charger, you can get a full charge in about seven-and-a-half hours. A DC fast-charging station enables your VW ID.4 to go from five percent charged to 80 percent in roughly 38 minutes. There's also an 11-kW charger that's included with the Volkswagen ID.4 that lets you get a 33-mile charge in an hour.

No matter how you prefer to charge this accommodating compact SUV, you can look forward to receiving quick results.

2021 VW ID.4: Safety and Convenience

While you're busy making your way from Point A to Point B, there are elements of your 2021 VW ID.4 electric SUV hard at work helping keep you and your passengers safe. Highlights include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, and the Blind Spot Monitor. Each of these comes as a standard aspect of the VW ID.4.

Adaptive Cruise Control is able to keep an eye on the flow of traffic and make any necessary adjustments to speed to maintain a predetermined safe distance between you and the vehicle ahead. Lane Assist comes in handy while you're driving at night when it might be difficult to keep from unintentionally drifting into a neighboring lane. The Blind Spot Monitor allows for safe lane changes by making sure your blind spots are clear before making your move.

The 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 also comes standard with several convenience features well worth trying out in person. For starters, there are the rain-sensing wipers that provide optimal visibility from the moment the precipitation starts to fall. There's also the auto-dimming rearview mirror. This one prevents you from being distracted whenever a vehicle pulls up behind you with particularly bright headlights.
